[Object] To provide a freezing device that can prevent liquid compression in a compressor during a defrosting operation and maintain a stable operation.
[Solution] A freezing device includes a refrigerant circuit 52, a control unit, and a flow-path switch unit. The refrigerant circuit 52 has a first refrigerant flow path for executing a cooling operation involving cooling a chamber, a second refrigerant flow path for executing a heating operation involving heating the chamber, a third refrigerant flow path for executing a pressure equalization operation, and a fourth refrigerant flow path for executing a defrosting operation involving removing frost. The control unit controls the flow-path switch unit for selecting and switching a mode of the refrigerant circuit 52. The flow-path switch unit switches the flow path through which refrigerant flows between the first refrigerant flow path, the second refrigerant flow path, the third refrigerant flow path, and the fourth refrigerant flow path based on control by the control unit. When the cooling operation is executed and defrosting of the interior heat exchanger is necessary, the control unit selects the third refrigerant flow path for a predetermined time period, and subsequently selects the fourth refrigerant flow path.
